PURPOSE: An RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) reader and control method thereof are provided to recognize a tag which a user desires. CONSTITUTION: A receiving coupler(30) transfers only the received signal of the transmission-reception antenna to a receiver. A controller(50) is connected to the receiving unit and an RF switch. The controller controls the RF switch according to a receiving result of the receiving unit. A voltage variable unit(40) is connected to the output terminal of the transmission unit.
