The invention determines whether to shut down a computer and to restore the BIOS setting value to a default state by detecting whether a restoring event occurs. In addition, the computer is shut down and the BIOS setting value is restored to the default state when the restoring event occurs. Therefore, the fault caused by the improper setting of the BIOS is eliminated.
