TREATING METHOD AND VOLUME REDUCTION TREATING APPARATUS FOR EXPANDED POLYURETHANE

PURPOSE: Method and apparatus for treating expanded polyurethane for volume reduction are provided to enhance the density of foamed polyurethane by heating expanded polyurethane, applying shear force for compression, and pressurizing the expanded polyurethane for volume reduction. CONSTITUTION: A method for treating expanded polyurethane for volume reduction comprises the steps of: heating expanded polyurethane(3) to 130~350°C or less; applying a shearing velocity of 20s^-1 or more and 550s^-1 or less to pressurize the expanded polyurethane to 0.2MPa; and compressing the expanded polyurethane for volume reduction. The density of the expanded polyurethane after volume reduction is 0.5g/cm^2 or greater.
