PURPOSE: A baggage transfer apparatus and a baggage transfer method using the same are provided to easily detect the existence, position, and discharge of baggage left in a conveyor for a recipient. CONSTITUTION: A baggage transfer apparatus includes a discharge part(100), a conveyor(200), a first reader(300), a second reader(400), a determination part(500), and a display part(600). The discharge part discharges transferred baggage. The conveyor transfers the discharged baggage through an endless track. The first reader is installed in the discharge part in order to communicate with an RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) tag attached in the baggage. The second reader is installed in the conveyor in order to communicate with the RFID tag attached in the baggage. The determination part determines baggage discharge through the first reader and determines the existence and position of the baggage on the conveyor through the second reader.
