PURPOSE: A lipase produced from Pichia lynferdii NRRL Y-7723 is provided to ensure high activity and to lower production cost. CONSTITUTION: A cold-active lipase is produced from Pichia lynferdii NRRL Y-7723 strain. The lipase has a gene sequence of sequence number 1. The lipase has an amino acid sequence of sequence number 2. A vector contains the gene sequence. A catalyst for producing chiral compounds contains the lipase. An esterification catalyst contains the lipase. An enzyme detergent contains the lipase.
