<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably invite an attention of pedestrians in a wide range around the vehicle having low traveling sound without degrading low noise property of the vehicle having low traveling sound, in a device to be mounted on a vehicle having low traveling sound such as an electric automobile and a hybrid automobile, for alerting pedestrians of the vehicle approaching. <P>SOLUTION: The alarm device includes a pedestrian detection sensor 1 detecting a pedestrian around a vehicle C, and an alarm composed of a speaker device 2 and a light device 3 setting off an alarm directionally to the detected pedestrian.
