ROTATING ELECTRICAL MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-efficiency rotating electrical machine which improves cooling performance of a fan despite being compact.

SOLUTION: A totally-enclosed type rotating electrical machine covered with a housing 1 and an end bracket 2 includes: an external fan 8 provided at that end of a rotating shaft 6 through which the end bracket 2 is inserted; a fan cover 9 covering the external fan 8 and having an opening 9a at a position facing the external fan 8; and a discharge opening 9b which is located at a position closer to the outer periphery than the opening 9a and discharges air from a space 11 surrounded with the end bracket 2 and the fan cover 9 to an outer peripheral portion of the housing 1. A cross section of blade members of the external fan 8 has a convex shape in order to enhance cooling performance.
