<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery case that can obtain sufficient strength, and enables sufficient heat radiation even when a unit is made by stacking a large number of the cases. <P>SOLUTION: In a method of manufacturing a battery case 1, a slug 15 is filled in a cavity 13 using a die 12 having the cavity 13 and a punch 14 which is disposed so as to be relatively movable with respect to the die 12 and allows its tip part to be inserted in the cavity 13 by descending, the slug 15 is impulsively pressed by making the punch 14 descend, and the slug 15 is thereby plastically deformed. At least four corner portions of the cavity or partial portions other than the four corner portions are expanded toward the peripheral side of the cavity 13 to form expanded portions 17, and the battery case having ribs 3 spanning over the height direction thereof on the outside of at least the four corner portions or the portions other than the four corner portions can be obtained using the cavity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
