<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device with reduced power consumption which can correctly display the state of the device. <P>SOLUTION: A light-emitting device has a first light-emitting element (LED 220), a cholesteric liquid crystal element 210 which can keep the selective reflection state in which light of a predetermined wavelength is selectively reflected, a controlling part 130 which can control the cholesteric liquid crystal element 210 so that it remains in the selective reflection state in the case in which the first light-emitting element (LED 220) is in a light-emitting state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
