<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To polish a stainless steel plate while preventing the generation of micro scratches. <P>SOLUTION: There is disclosed a method of polishing a steel plate 1, comprising polishing a belt-shaped stainless steel plate 1, subsequently washing off a polishing liquid 3 present on the steel plate 1, and subsequently drying the steel plate 1, wherein the washing and the drying are each carried out according to the procedures as described in (1) and (2) respectively: (1) a washing liquid is fed onto the steel plate 1 from a pair of washing nozzles each disposed above the steel plate 1 in the vicinity of either end part in the longitudinal direction of the polished area of the steel plate 1 respectively while allowing the polishing liquid 3 and the washing liquid to stay on the steel plate 1 disposed between the pair of washing nozzles, and subsequently the polishing liquid 3 is washed off together with the washing liquid to outside via the end part in the width direction of the steel plate 1 using a material capable of removing the polishing liquid 3, and (2) a gas is fed onto the steel plate 1 via a drying nozzle disposed thereabove in order of the polished area of the steel plate 1, the pair of washing nozzles, and the drying nozzle in the longitudinal direction thereof while allowing the washing liquid to stay between the washing nozzles and the drying nozzle, and the washing liquid present on the steel plate 1 is consecutively blown off by the gas to dry the steel plate 1 while causing the steel plate 1 to move in the direction from the washing nozzles to the drying nozzle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
