ERROR-CORRECTION ENCODING APPARATUS, ERROR-CORRECTION DECODING APPARATUS, RECEIVING APPARATUS, AND TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize an HD-SDI signal in a transmission system of the HD-SDI signal.

SOLUTION: An error-correction encoding apparatus 10 comprises: error-correction encoding data extraction means 102 which extracts data to be encoded from HD-SDI data; error-correction encoding means 105 which encodes the data to be encoded through the use of an abbreviated RS code to generate parity data; error-correction parity rearrangement means 106 which rearranges bits of parity data and identification code to generate rearranged data in order to avoid predetermined prohibited words; and error-correction parity insertion means 103 which inserts the rearranged data into an auxiliary data region of an HD-SDI signal. In this way, the HD-SDI signal is multiplexed and transmitted to a receiving apparatus 2. The receiving apparatus 2 extracts the identification code from the auxiliary data region, generates identification information, and displays the information on HD-SDI signal identification information display means 209.
