<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve glossiness characteristics of a high frequency image and to reduce deterioration of image quality. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus determines whether input image data are high frequency image data or not. When it is determined that the data are the high frequency image data, the apparatus acquires conversion data defined such that in the identical specific gradation, the amount of clear ink landed onto a recording medium is made smaller than the amount of clear ink landed onto the recording medium when it is determined that the data are not the high frequency image data. On the basis of the acquired conversion data, the input image data are converted into ink data used for forming an image relating to the input image data onto a recording medium by the use of clear ink and color ink. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
