<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forging device and a forging method by which a workpiece can be reliably knocked out from a punch without using a driving means such as a hydraulic cylinder. <P>SOLUTION: In a forging device which applies cold forging or hot forging to a workpiece 10 with a die 30 and a punch 50 which is moved toward the die 30, the punch 50 constitutes a part of the molded surface 65 of the punch when the workpiece 10 is molded plastically, has a punch-side knocking-out member 70 for separating the workpiece 10 from the molded surface 65 of the punch after being plastically molded, and the punch-side knocking-out member 70 is biased in the knock-out direction with a resilient member 80 which is incorporated in the punch 50.
