<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new bisimide compound serving as a raw material for a resin having good transparency. <P>SOLUTION: The bisimide compound is represented by general formula (1), wherein X<SB POS="POST">1</SB>and X<SB POS="POST">2</SB>represent general formula (2-1) or (2-2).
