PURPOSE: A clustering method of an ad hoc network hierarchial topology with an optimal depth using a link cost is provided to increase the operation time of a moving adhoc network and the operation time of moving nodes. CONSTITUTION: A virtual cluster is comprised(410). The optimized depth is predicted by calculating the link cost of nodes in the cluster(420). The real cluster is composed based on the depth of the calculated cluster layer(430). While changeably applying the depth of layer of moving nodes in the cluster, the total energy amount which is consumed in the cluster is calculated. The depth of a layer is determined as optimized when the most energy consumption among the calculated total energy amount is low.
