<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transport network system that can transfer OTN alarm signals and improve scalability regardless of allocation of OSC wavelengths, transmission speed, a bit arrangement of OTN alarm signals on OSC wavelengths or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The optical transport network system transmits a main signal as an optical signal between a node device 1 and node device 2. The node device 1 comprises a monitor control part 17 that performs alarm processing according to an OTN recommendation, and sends a generated alarm signal packet via a monitor control network 3 to the node device 2 where alarm information is generated and stored.
