<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an applicator which is easy to be manufacture, whose component strength is high, and which quickly writes at initial use (when ink is provided from an ink tank to an ink absorption body for the first time). <P>SOLUTION: The applicator 1 includes: a coating liquid housing 3 which makes a filled coating liquid 7 flow therein; a coating body 6 to coat the coating liquid 7; a coating liquid absorption body 4 impregnated with the coating liquid 7 between the coating liquid housing 3 and the coating body 6; and a flow channel forming portion 5 which has a flow channel to make the coating liquid 7 flow between the coating liquid housing 3 and the coating liquid absorption body 4. A protruding portion 11 is formed at the flow channel forming portion 5.
