CONTENT RETRIEVAL DEVICE AND METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a retrieval result of images corresponding to a moving image content in an easy-to understand manner so as to make a user confirm the retrieval result of the same.

SOLUTION: A media archive 22 stores data of contents inputted from a content input unit 21. A image processing unit 23 extracts meta data from a content to store the meta data mapped to an identification information of a content in a meta database 24, and extracts an image feature quantity from the content to store the image feature quantity mapped to the identification information and a frame number of the content in an image feature quantity database 25. A retrieval image inputting unit 31 accepts an input of a retrieval still-image, and a retrieval unit 33 determines a content that has a still-image frame similar to the retrieval still-image to notify the content of a retrieval result outputting unit 34. The retrieval result outputting unit 34 reads out a meta data from the meta database 24 to generate display data of the retrieval result.
