<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detection system which, when persons pass each other, can predict the future position of the person by selecting a passing model most similar to the passing action of the person. <P>SOLUTION: A position detection system 100 comprises a LRF 12, a memory 22, and a processor 20. The position detection system 100 detects the positions of persons existing in a detection area (F) by sensing them with the LRF 12, and accumulates the detected position data in a buffer of the memory 22. Based on the historical position data of persons A and B, when the system 100 determines that they pass each other, it calculates probability P corresponding to a passing track CT for every passing model. The processor 20 then determines the movement direction of the person B according to the passing model CM having the maximum of the probability P, and calculates the movement distance of the person B in a first predetermined time to obtain the future position of the person B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
