ARRAY SUBSTRATE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE COMPRISING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an array substrate which can maintain an even cell thickness without increasing manufacturing steps and a liquid crystal display device comprising the array substrate for a liquid crystal display equipped with a color filter on the array substrate side.

SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display element comprises: an array substrate; a counter substrate positioned to face the array substrate with a given gap maintained therebetween; and a liquid crystal layer interposed between these two substrates. The array substrate used for the liquid crystal display element at least includes on a transparent substrate: pixel electrodes; a thin-film transistor which drives the pixel electrodes; and colored pixels consisting of colored layers in multiple colors arranged to cover the thin-film transistor. At least two layers of the colored layers form a laminated spacer to maintain a given gap via the counter substrate and liquid crystal materials.
