<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that since the deterioration of power supply efficiency characteristics accompanied by the change of the number of operation of power supply units is generated in case of controlling the number of operation according to the power consumption of a server, it is not possible to sufficiently reduce power consumption in the neighborhood of boundary conditions even in case of executing the control of the number of operation of the power supply units. <P>SOLUTION: The number of operation of power supply units is controlled based on the power consumption of a server.
