<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an azomethine compound having a high clarity and color development and being excellent in fastness such as heat resistance and to provide a dye composition containing the compound. <P>SOLUTION: An azomethine compound represented by formula (1) and an oil-based or water-based dye composition containing the compound are provided. In a combination of desirable substituents in formula (1), X is a hydrogen atom; R<SB POS="POST">1</SB>, R<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, and R<SB POS="POST">3</SB>are methyl groups; A is a benzene ring or a naphthalene ring; and Y<SP POS="POST">-</SP>is a tris(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)methide anion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
