<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress luminance variation at a portion of a display apparatus, while restraining influence of discharge to an electron emission source or to a driving circuit. <P>SOLUTION: In an image display apparatus, a rear plate has an electron emission source formed in a matrix and line-sequentially driven, and a scanning line driven when the electron emission source is line-sequentially driven. A face plate has first and second potential definition members 7 and 8 disposed on the outside of an anode electrode 26 so as to translate with the scanning line along two opposite sides of the anode electrode, connected with the anode electrode, and of which one is connected with a feed terminal, and a resistance member 6 disposed on the outside of the anode electrode along at least one of the other two sides of the anode electrode and connecting the first potential definition member and the second potential definition member. When an average resistance value per reference length of the first and second potential definition members, the anode electrode, and the resistance member is set to R1, R2, and R3, respectively, relation expression of R1<R2<R3 is satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
