<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of reducing a color breakup of a reflective image formed by reflected light of external light and suppressing an influence from the surrounding environment. <P>SOLUTION: An image display device is composed of a plurality of pixels which include emission layers and structural layers retrieving light generated therefrom. The structural layer has a configuration in which a plurality of structures formed by a first medium are nonperiodically aligned within a layer formed by a second medium having a refractive-index different from that of the first medium and which has a refractive-index distribution in the in-plane direction in parallel with a screen of the image display device. By the nonperiodically aligned structure, the image display device reflects external light so that the reflected light of the external light has an overlap range, and reduces a color breakup of a reflective image formed by the reflected light of external light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
