<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a conventional shock-absorbing seat rail has a structure comprised of an upper rail provided to a lower rail so as to be movable and an operating lever provided to the upper rail, and a structure where the upper rail is movably supported by the operating lever and the upper rail is configured to be movable in a collided situation (at the time of receiving an impact) by a compression of a movable member which is externally mounted to the operating lever, thereby reducing damages of the collision without degrading a restriction of a person on board, which means the structure is a shock-absorbing structure only using the seat and is less effective in its function. <P>SOLUTION: A seat slide device of a vehicle includes a fixed rail, an intermediate rail, and a movable rail. This movable rail moves using the intermediate rail as a guide at the time of a frontal collision or a rear collision (at the time of receiving an impact). By the forward or rearward movement of the movable rail, a seat back inclines forward or rearward, and, at the same time, a seating part of the seat sinks.
