<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device and a paper feeding method for sheets capable of positively separately sending out stacked sheets loaded on a lifter one by one. <P>SOLUTION: The paper feeding device and paper feeding method for sheets are provided with an inclination detection sensor for detecting an inclination of an uppermost sheet in the stacked sheets, and a lifting device moving a separation block in a vertical direction for blowing air between the stacked sheets.
