<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of generating an interpolation frame in which stereoscopic effect is not damaged even when a motion vector is not detected in a frame for one eye in frame rate conversion of a stereoscopic image. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus of the present invention comprises means to detect a motion vector from each of a first and a second images constituting stereoscopic images, and means to detect a parallax vector between a frame of the first image and a frame of the second image corresponding thereto. The system further includes means to detect, when there is a non-detection part where the motion vector is not detected in the frame of one of the first and the second images, a corresponding part included in the frame of the other image corresponding to the non-detection part using the parallax vector and to perform correction to set the motion vector in the frame of the other image in the corresponding part to the non-detection part, and means to generate an interpolation frame for each of the first and the second images using the corrected motion vector. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
