<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle tracking system capable of tracking a position of a vehicle by estimating a traveling route of the vehicle even when GPS positioning means cannot measure the position of the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle tracking system tracks the position of the vehicle by acquiring information, which is sent from a on-vehicle device 10 mounted on the vehicle, in a center device 30 provided outside the vehicle via a mobile communication network. When GPS positioning means measuring the position of the vehicle cannot work, a control part 17 in the on-vehicle device 10 makes a wireless communication apparatus 11 to send weather measurement data and measurement time as vehicle external information to the mobile communication network. A estimation part 37 in the center device 30 acquires the vehicle external information by a wireless communication apparatus 31, extracts observation information which corresponds to the vehicle external information from a database 36, and estimates the traveling route associated with each measurement time by arranging position data included in the observation information in a sequence of measurement time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
