<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem with conventional radar apparatuses that, as they use a clutter suppressing filter having the same suppressing bandwidth for the azimuth angle and the elevation angle alike, involve the problem of deterioration in target detection sensitivity to slowly approaching targets, laterally moving targets and distant targets particularly when the antenna beam is in the frontal direction. <P>SOLUTION: It is made possible to improve target detection performance to slowly approaching targets, laterally moving targets and distant targets even when the antenna beam is in the frontal direction by extracting information on the azimuth angle and the elevation angle of the antenna beam and determining the optimum filter load according to the clutter shape varying with the angles of the antenna beam. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
