PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the failure of an AC-DC converter and the occurrence of electrification through the AC-DC converter even in the case of using the AC-DC converter with the primary side insulated from the secondary side having a floating structure in terms of direct current.
SOLUTION: A power supply unit 1 for high-voltage discharge is connected to a commercial power source 100, and has an AC-DC converter 10 and a high-voltage converter 20. The AC-DC converter 10 has a transformer Tr10 with its primary side insulated from the secondary side, and the secondary side is composed of a floating structure. The high-voltage converter 20 is also composed of a structure with the primary side insulated from the secondary side. As the primary side of the high-voltage converter 20 is insulated from the secondary side, a high voltage is developed between the primary and secondary sides of the high-voltage converter 20 when a return current, which is caused by ion generation, is flowing. As a result, a voltage between the primary and secondary sides of the AC-DC converter 10 resulting from the return current lowers.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
