The support (1) has a cutting enclosure defining loading volume that receives parallel wooden logs (2). A vertical wall (3) forms a thrust bearing plane arranged perpendicular to direction of the logs when the logs are loaded in the enclosure. The enclosure is defined by vertical elements i.e. posts (4). An anchoring unit e.g. guidance slides (5) and rods (6), anchors a manipulator arm of a machine to allow pivoting of the enclosure to position an end of the logs in a blocked position against a plane formed by the wall when the logs are placed in the enclosure. An independent claim is also included for a method for cutting wooden logs.
