<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce show-through without requiring a user to select a correction level. <P>SOLUTION: A image forming apparatus includes: a printing section 30 for performing printing based on image data included in a print job having print settings on single-sided or duplex printing; a show-through detection section 73 for detecting, if the duplex printing is set, as to whether the show-through degree of a printing medium exceeds a predetermined threshold value if a printing based on the image data is carried out; and a print control section 74 for controlling the printing section 30, when the show-through detection section 73 detects that the show-through degree exceeds the predetermined threshold value, to perform printing by reducing the amount of colorant to be transferred. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
