<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarization fluctuation compensation device realizing fine receiving characteristics by surely compensating influence due to a high speed polarization fluctuation caused by interactions between optical signals of individual wavelengths. <P>SOLUTION: The polarization fluctuation compensation device collects information on the presence or absence of polarization scrambling of a optical signal of each wavelength, e.g., when WDM(wavelength-division multiplexing) light received with an optical receiving device contains the optical signal with polarization scrambling and the optical signal without polarization scrambling. The device finds a target value of a control parameter that varies according to the speed of a polarization fluctuation of the optical signal without polarization scrambling on the basis of the collected information, and performs a receiving process for the optical signal without polarization scrambling using the control parameter into which the target value has been set. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
