<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel iridium complex having a small half-value width of an emission spectrum and to provide an organic light-emitting element having the complex. <P>SOLUTION: The novel iridium complex is expressed by general formula (1), including a phenyl ring and an imidazole ring as ligands, and has a basic skeleton comprising a phenyl ring to which a pyrimidine ring is bonded. In the formula, H represents a hydrogen atom; N represents a nitrogen atom; Ir represents an iridium atom; R<SB POS="POST">1</SB>and R<SB POS="POST">2</SB>both represent an alkyl group; R<SB POS="POST">3</SB>, R<SB POS="POST">4</SB>and R<SB POS="POST">5</SB>are each independently selected from a hydrogen atom and an alkyl group; and R<SB POS="POST">6</SB>represents a hydrogen atom or a cyano group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
