摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method that realizes a signal transmission speed exceeding the speed of light, using an entangled state. <P>SOLUTION: A receiver prepares a polarization plate, and a Sagnac interferometer employing a nonlinear optical material in a part of a optical path. A first photon of two photons in a polarization direction of an entangled state is transmitted to a sender, and the remaining second photon is transmitted to the receiver. The sender selects a vertical direction or 45&deg; direction in accordance with desired information to be transmitted, and measures the first photon after passing it through a polarization plate which penetrates a vertical polarization or 45&deg; polarization at a time 1. The receiver inputs the second photon to the Sagnac interferometer after passing it through the polarization plate at a time 2 subsequent to the time 1 to interact with reference light in the nonlinear optical material.
