<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut off an electric current without damaging a semiconductor circuit breaker while not using a snubber circuit. <P>SOLUTION: A cutoff device, provided between a load whose power is fed through a feeder from a DC power supply and the DC power supply, includes a current detection unit which is connected to a first junction point of the feeder to detect a current value, a semiconductor circuit breaker which is connected to a second junction point of the feeder and starts cutting off the current flowing to the second junction point when the current value detected in the current detection unit reaches a predetermined current value, and an electromotive force suppressing unit which, when electric energy is accumulated by a current branched from the current flowing in the feeder causing the current flowing in the feeder to continue increasing, outputs accumulated electric energy as a current to the feeder upstream from the first junction point, and when the semiconductor circuit breaker starts cutting off the current, which forms on the load side from the second junction point a circuit to connect the positive and negative electrode lines constituting the feeder and passes through the formed circuit a current corresponding to the electromotive force generated by a start of current cutoff. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
