<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing apparatus in which a receiver necessary for wirelessly remote-controlling a photographing lens unit can be mounted to all pieces of photographing equipment and can be mounted to the pieces in various photographing manners without hindering photographing operations. <P>SOLUTION: An image capturing apparatus includes a photographing lens unit including an image capturing optical system, a photographing camera that is removably mounted to the photographing lens unit and that includes an image sensor for receiving light from the photographing lens,unit and a receiver that is connected to the photographing lens unit via a cable and that receives an operation signal from a remote controller. In the image capturing apparatus, the photographing lens unit or the photographing camera is controllable in response to the operation signal.
