<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve device of an internal combustion engine, capable of reducing the dispersion of the contact position of a side surface vertical wall of a guide groove with a pin. <P>SOLUTION: The variable valve device of the internal combustion engine includes: an actuator capable of thrusting the pin 44b; a cylindrical part 18a that rotates with a camshaft; a guide vertical wall 78 that is formed on an outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical part 18a, and guides the relative displacement of the pin 44b thrust by the actuator and the cylindrical part 18a; a switching mechanism that switches the valve opening characteristics of a valve by the relative displacement; and a guiding means 84 that induces the pin 44b thrust by the actuator to the guide vertical wall 78 before the relative displacement starts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
