<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for classification of fine particles, which precisely classify fine particles by sedimentation velocity method. <P>SOLUTION: The classification device 1 is provided with a unit 4 for forming continuous density gradient which is in a state of not making a flat part for density gradient in the radial direction of a carrier liquid at the upper part of the separation passage 3. The unit 4 includes: a flow passage 11 in which the carrier liquid flows from the upper stream side to the downstream side; and a stirrer 12 which stirs the carrier liquid flowing inside the flow passage 11 at least in the radial direction. With the stirrer 12, a part of the flowing energy of the carrier liquid flowing in the flow passage 11 is converted to stirring energy, and the continuous density gradient is formed by a system of promoting dynamic diffusion, promoting the diffusion of the density gradient material of the carrier liquid actively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
