<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera improved in operability. <P>SOLUTION: In this electronic camera, an imager 16 has an image pickup surface for capturing a subject field through a focus lens 12 and outputs raw image data. The output raw image data is converted into search image data through pre-processing by a pre-processing circuit 20 and post-processing by a post-processing circuit 34. A face dictionary DIC contains standard face images and blurred face images with sharpness different from one another. A CPU 26 searches the search image data for a face image that matches any one of the standard face images and blurred face images contained in the face dictionary DIC, and focuses on a discovered face image to conduct AF processing. After the AF processing, the CPU 26 discriminates the sharpness of the face image that has been focused on for the AF processing with reference to the standard face images and blurred face images contained in the face dictionary DIC, and if the result of discrimination matches an error condition, it generates an alarm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
