PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve appropriate reception of content provided to limited areas.

SOLUTION: This information distribution system comprises; a broadcast wave reception unit which receives broadcast waves from a broadcasting station 2; a communication unit which communicates with a broadcasting station control server 3 (a first information distribution apparatus) and a broadcasting station portal server 4 (a second information distribution apparatus) which distributes content provided by the broadcasting station 2 through an IP communication network 10; a registration information storage unit which stores its own location information, frequency information for broadcast waves of broadcasting stations, and information indicating reception status of the broadcast wave of the broadcasting station 2 on the device; and a receiver device 5 which sends its own location information to the broadcasting control server 3, selects either the broadcasting station 2 or the broadcasting station portal server 4 as a content source based on a frequency table received from the broadcasting station control server 3, and acquires content.
