<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding tool and a method for manufacturing an optical element that can further promote the escape of gas present in the molding tool in pressing while suppressing the deterioration of the quality of the optical element, and to provide optical equipment having the optical element manufactured by the method. <P>SOLUTION: The molding tool 10 to be used to press an optical material O includes an upper die 20 and a lower die 30 that approach and separate from each other to press the optical material O, and a shell die 40 that surrounds the upper die 20 and the lower die 30 and specifies the track of the approach and separation thereof.
