The disclosed cylinder device is capable of maintaining an excellent connection state, and has a tubular cylinder (11), an end member (12) disposed at the end of the cylinder (11), and a welded portion (13) fixed by welding one end of the end member (12) to the outer circumference side of the cylinder (11) which is fitted in the inner circumference of the end member (12). In the circumferential direction on the end of the cylinder (11) are provided alternately notch portions (20) and abutting portions (21) in contact with a contact portion (60) of the end member (12); the notch portions (20) form a communicating path (69) which communicates between the welding portion (13) and an inner circumference space portion (67) of the end member (12) or the cylinder (11).
