The train (1) has a camshaft whose cam (2) is operatively connected with a cam follower (4) through an axially-mounted push rod (3) and a rocker arm, where the cam follower is provided with a gas shuttle valve (5). The push rod and the valve are placed at distance from each other on a side of the cam follower. A clearance compensation element (6) i.e. hydraulic clearance compensation element, is arranged on another side of the cam follower for backlash-free operation of the valve, where the latter side is opposite to the push rod and the valve.
