PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing Paris verticillata extract is provided to suppress MMP-1 generation and to ensure anti-oxidation and cell regeneration. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for anti-aging or antioxidation contains Paris verticillata extract as an active ingredient. A cosmetic composition for skin regeneration contains the extract as an active ingredient. A cosmetic composition for improving anti-wrinkling or skin elasticity contains the extract as an active ingredient. The extract is contained in 0.00001-30.0%(w/w) based on total weight of the cosmetic composition. The extract is isolated using water, anhydrous or hydrous low alcohol of 1-4 carbon atoms, propylene glycol, butylenes glycol, glycerine, acetone, ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, chloroform, or mixture thereof. The cosmetic composition is manufactured in the form of a solution, suspension, emulsion, paste, gel, cream, lotion, powder, soap, surfactant-containing foundation, oil, powder foundation, wax foundation, spray, or mixture thereof.
