<p>The present invention discloses an adjustment method of Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC), which includes: an adjustment period is set; a Base Station (BS) calculates statistically the number of total packets and the number of error packets sent by a terminal during an adjustment period; the BS calculates the Packet Error Ratio (PER) based on the calculated number of total packets and the calculated number of error packets and determines an adjustment value of an AMC threshold based on the calculated PER; the BS adjusts the AMC threshold based on the determined adjustment value of the AMC threshold. A base station is disclosed accordingly in the present invention. The present invention adjusts dynamically the AMC thresholds of the terminals, so it can adapt the downlink demodulation capability of different types of terminals (hybrid terminals under commercial conditions) at different times. Therefore, this allows it to control the downlink PERs of the terminals within a certain low range and to lower the PERs of the terminals, and further to effectively improve the throughput and stability of the network.</p> |
