The method involves using a tool (3) that can be rotated around its axis (4) for radiating high energy beam (5) such as plasma, laser or electron beam onto the running surface (1) of the cylinder piston (2) at specific angle to form a groove with a undercut. High energy beam is irradiated onto the surface at angle (beta ) by using the tool to form another groove with undercut in the running surface.
