The method involves moving a transport unit in combination with a roller i.e. material roller (3), into a storage position of an intermediate bearing by another transport unit. A part of a rotary disk is pivoted around a vertical axis at a time point at 180 degree. The part of the disk is brought from a pivoting layer into another pivoting layer. The former transport unit is moved in combination with the roller from the storage position of the intermediate bearing and/or from another storage position to the latter transport unit at the time point. An independent claim is also included for a roller bearer comprising a protection device.
