<p>A method for refitting an ordinary gas or electric water heater into a solar water heater comprises the steps of adding two three-way valves to the original water heater, adding a solar heat circulation circuit to the original water heater, adding temperature sensors to the original water heater and adding a computer controller (3) to the original water heater, wherein the solar heat circulation circuit comprises a first manual spherical valve (22), a solar water circulation pump (23), a solar heat collector (24), a temperature/pressure valve (25), a vacuum valve (26), a heat circulation check valve (27) and a second manual spherical valve (28) connected sequentially. The computer controller (3) comprises corresponding software and hardware systems, which can control the refitted solar water heater automatically so that the solar energy is utilized to the maximum extent to heat the water in a water tank (1) and the conventional gas or electricity carried with the original water heater is used only when the solar energy is insufficient to heat the water to a required temperature.</p> |
