Use of high manganese-containing lightweight steel (I) produced from the main constituents of iron and manganese, and noble elements, for structural components of a seat structure (200) of vehicle seats, is claimed. An independent claim is included for a vehicle seat comprising a seat structure containing at least one structural component, which is constructed from (I).
